1. Siachen Glacier, Ladhak


Siachen Glacier is one of the largest Glacier in India. This glacier located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends. The volume of the glacier has been reduced by 35 per cent over the last twenty years due to global warming and military activity. The average winter snowfall is more than 1000 cm (35 ft) and temperatures dip to −50 °C. Including all tributary glaciers, the Siachen Glacier system covers about 700 km square. It is 75.6 km long and 2.8 km wide. The word 'Siachen' means "the place of wild roses". and its also known as the highest battleground on earth.  The Siachen Glacier sometimes called the "Third Pole".

2. Gangotri Glacier, Uttarakhand


This Gangotri glacier, one of the primary sources of the Ganges, is one of the largest in the Himalayas. Located in Kumaon Himalayan Mountain range at an altitude of 3353 meters. It is located between the snow-capped Nanda Devi and the Nandakot mountains. It is 3 km in length and 0.25 km in breadth. An estimated volume of over 27 cubic kilometres. The glacier is about 30 kilometres (19 miles) long and 2 to 4 km (1 to 2 mi) wide. Around the glacier are the peaks of the Gangotri Group, including several peaks notable for extremely challenging climbing routes.

3. Bara Shigri Glacier, Himachal Pradesh


Bara Shigri is the second-largest glacier located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India, Bara-Sigri glacier which is the second-longest glacier in Himalaya (Indian side) after Gangotri. The glacier's altitude is between 3,950 m (12,960 ft) and 4,570 m (14,990 ft), and it's 11 km (6.8 mi) length has been surveyed and mapped. The glacier is covered by multiple layers of snow with surface moraine that ice is not visible for long stretches except along the crevices and in the ablation areas. The Bara Shigri glacier attracted much attention for many years because of the valuable antimony deposits found there.

4. Zemu Glacier, Sikkim


Zemu Glacier is the largest glacier in the Eastern Himalaya. It is 26 kilometres (16 mi) in length and is located at the base of Kangchenjunga in the Himalayan region of Sikkim, India. The Zemu Glacier drains the east side of Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain. The attracted of the Zemu Glacier is the source of water for numerous rivers, as it feeds them when it melts.

5. Pindari Glacier, Himalaya


The Pindari Glacier is a glacier found in the upper reaches of the Kumaon Himalayas, to the southeast of Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot. The glacier is about three kilometres long and 365 meters wide which gives rise to the Pindar River and meets the Alakananda at Karnaprayag. The Pindari Glacier trail provides for a 90 km round-trip trek that most people find comfortable to complete in six days. The Pindari Glacier is also famous for other adventure sports like ice climbing and mountain biking.
