Goa Is All Set To Welcome Tourists


The Goa is quite friendly towards tourists and celebrates many festivals throughout the year, the most famous being the New Year and Goa Carnival.
Tourists’ favourite beach getaway, Goa has reopened to tourists from July 2, 2020 after the COVID-19 lockdown. The picturesque state is all set to welcome tourists from within the country. This has come as big news for the tourism industry in the state, one of the major revenue-generating industries as well. 250 hotels have also been permitted to resume operations to aid the tourists.

The development was reported by Goa’s Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar, "We have decided to allow domestic travellers to enter Goa from July 2 onwards provided they comply with certain norms.” Reportedly, the decision was made in a cabinet meeting, presided by Goa CM Pramod Sawant.

1. Check the Goa Gov website to see if there were any restrictions imposed on travelling

Essentials to note here is that anyone intending to make a trip to Goa needs to adhere to a set of rules and regulations, or they won’t be allowed to enter the state.

 Need To Know Before Planning A Visit To Goa

By Road


1. Carry a negative COVID-19 certificate that has been conducted over the past 48 hours. Else, travellers will have to get tested in Goa for the same.
2. Anyone testing positive for Coronavirus would either have to go back or stay in quarantine in Goa until their test result is declared.
3. Travellers need to pre-book their stay at a hotel that has been approved to operate by the tourism department.
4. Travellers with bookings in a non-approved hotel or homestay will not be allowed, and the same would be deemed illegal.

By Flight


1. Take a COVID-19 Test in your home state, get the results declaring you and your co-passengers negative and enter Goa within 48 hours of the test results.
2. Take a COVID test at Dabolim airport for Rs 2000. If you have your own home in Goa, you will have to home quarantine for 48 hours until your test results are declared as negative.

Restrictions In North Goa


Section 144 has been implied in North Goa. The movement of the bar of all individuals for all non-essential activities between 9 pm to 5 am. All shops/establishments are restricted except essentials from 9 pm to 5 am - gymnasiums, sports complexes, auditoriums/community halls, assembly halls and similar places; bars, schools-colleges-educational/training/coaching institutions will continue to remain non-functional.

In addition to these, cinema halls/theatres, swimming pools, social/political/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions and other large congregations; casinos, river cruises, multiplexes, consumption of liquor in public places, entertainment parks, spa/massage parlours as well as sale and consumption of pan, gutkha and tobacco in public places are also banned.
