 Planning for a Diwali trip? Tent City of Kutch will be reopening for visitors from November 12

The Tent City in the Rann of Kutch will be reopening to visitors on November 12, two days before Diwali. All those, who have been planning to travel for a Diwali break, can make their plan accordingly. Also, in the wake of the ongoing pandemic, authorities have taken all the required safety measures to ensure safety of the visitors.

The White Rann, spread across an area of 7500 sq km, is one of the largest salt deserts in the world. It will remain open to visitors till February 28. Bhavik Sheth, Finance and Operation Manager, Lallooji & Sons, informed that around 350 tents have been set up at Dhordo village to facilitate the stay of visitors.

Sheth elaborated that new disinfection and cleaning procedures have been adopted this year in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Increased focus has been on common spaces, such as adventure sports zone, reception and vehicles zone, haat and dining hall area, and others. He assured that the entire staff has undergone training with regard to the COVID-19 protocols, and has been advised to wear protective gears and face masks at all times.

Measures have also been taken to ensure adequate social distancing, and the entire area is sanitised regularly. He further reiterated that they have left no room for any error, assuring that guests will not have any reason to be worried.

Reportedly, more than 35000 visitors enjoy first-hand experience every year of its hospitality; over the years, the White Rann has hosted visitors from as many as 20 countries over the years.
 
Further, apart from enjoying the beautiful sunset in the salt desert, one can also plan to visit many historical monuments and places like Kalo Dungar (Black Hill) when here. You can also watch artisans at work, attend musical programmes, or buy unique handicrafts directly from their workshops.
